Good handling, great acceleration, 324 mile range at 90% charge, comfortable ride. Have had it 2 weeks. Expensive.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is one of the best electric Mercedes SUVs currently available.

Priced just below $80,000 and offering an all-electric range of up to 279 miles, this mid-size luxury SUV offers the perfect combination of performance and pricing.

It comfortably seats up to five people and offers different powertrain options to suit your needs:

  • The EQE350+ is a rear-wheel-drive model with a single motor, delivering 288 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque.
  • The EQE350 4Matic is an all-wheel-drive model with dual motors, offering 288 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque.
  • For those craving more power, the EQE500 4Matic is an all-wheel-drive model with dual motors, packing 402 horsepower and 633 pound-feet of torque.

The EQE SUV delivers a satisfying driving experience, although its acceleration at higher speeds might feel slightly slower compared to other electric vehicles in its class.

When it comes to range, the EQE SUV offers respectable EPA estimates:

  • The EQE350+ gives you around 279 miles of electric range.
  • The EQE350 4Matic offers approximately 253 miles of electric range.
  • With the EQE500 4Matic, you can expect around 269 miles of electric range.

Charging the EQE SUV is a breeze, thanks to its maximum recharge rate of 170 kW. At a compatible fast-charging station, you can charge your battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 32 minutes.

Step inside the cabin, and you’ll be greeted with a luxurious and technologically advanced environment.

Depending on the trim level, you can enjoy a freestanding central screen, a separate digital instrument cluster, or even the incredible Hyperscreen.

The Hyperscreen offers a truly immersive experience, providing controls and entertainment options not only for you but also for your front passenger.

  • The EQE SUV is impressively aerodynamic, offering a drag coefficient of 0.25, which means better efficiency and reduced wind noise.
  • Mercedes-Benz has introduced some cool innovations in the EQE SUV. For instance, all-wheel-drive models can power down the front motor (except in Sport mode), resulting in a 6 percent boost in range. Plus, the climate control system uses a heat pump to heat the cabin more efficiently.

  • The EQE SUV falls slightly short of some competitors in cargo space, providing 14 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. However, fold those seats down, and you’ll get 55 cubic feet.
  • If you prefer a more traditional SUV appearance, the EQE SUV’s design might not be your cup of tea. It has a unique and distinctive look that may not appeal to everyone.

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB SUV

We’ve got this car and love it – my wife drives 70 miles a day and it has been great. Big boot (in 5 seat mode), comfortable ride + suspension, option for 7 seats and a good balance between buttons+digital input (all digital would drive the Mrs mad).

The Mercedes-Benz EQB is an electric SUV priced affordably at a $52,750 starting price and is based on the popular GLB-class SUV.

The EQB offers seating for up to five people as standard, but you can opt for a third row, making it a seven-seater.

From the outside, the main visual difference between the EQB and the GLB is the black plastic panel covering the front grille area. Otherwise, it maintains a similar appearance.

The interior features the same layout and controls as the GLB, ensuring familiarity and ease of use.

The EQB is perfect for those looking for a versatile and spacious electric SUV that seamlessly integrates into their daily routine. Whether you’re a small family or an urban explorer, the EQB offers the space and practicality you need.

Performance-wise, the EQB offers three versions to choose from:

  • EQB250+: Front-wheel drive with a 188-horsepower electric motor.
  • EQB300: All-wheel drive with a 225-horsepower electric powertrain.
  • EQB350: Dual-motor all-wheel drive, producing 288 horsepower.

The EQB’s range varies depending on the model. The EQB350 offers an estimated range of 227 miles, while the EQB300 and EQB250+ provide slightly longer ranges of 242 and 250 miles, respectively.

Charging can be done at home on a Level 2 connection or at public DC fast-charging stations, where you can charge from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 30 minutes.

Step inside the EQB, and you’ll find a familiar and upscale cabin.

The MBUX infotainment system, with its touchscreen, voice command, and steering-wheel controls, is carried over from the GLB.

The interface includes navigation with an EV charging station locator feature, although the voice assistant can sometimes be overly enthusiastic.

  • The EQB’s design is similar to the gas-powered GLB, making it a smooth transition for drivers new to electric vehicles.
  • The EQB300, with 225 horsepower and an estimated range of up to 242 miles per charge, strikes an outstanding balance between power and efficiency.
  • Opting for the Pinnacle trim level adds luxury features such as a panoramic sunroof and a high-end Burmester stereo system.

  • The EQB’s maximum estimated range is 250 miles per charge, which is limited compared to some competitors.
  • The battery pack reduces the EQB’s cargo capacity by up to 5 cubic feet, depending on seat configurations.

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQA SUV

Mercedes-Benz EQA SUV exterior

I have the EQA350 4-matic since about 3 weeks now. Amazing car. I am in love with the build quality of the interior, I assume this is the same for each Merc. The seats are also extremely comfortable compared to other cars I’ve owned.

The only downside on the car for me is the trunk, it is too small for 2 adults and 1 toddler for a long(er) vacation so we are looking at a roof box which gets that out of the way. For day to day activities and grocery shopping it is fine as is.

Next up is the Mercedes-Benz EQA, an electric SUV that joins the ranks of the Ford Mustang Mach-e and Audi Q4 e-tron.

Sadly, this model currently isn’t available in the United States.

Still, if you’re in the UK or European market for an electric SUV in the around £50k price range, you’ll find plenty of options, including the Volkswagen ID4, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and Skoda Enyaq.

The EQA SUV is based on the combustion-engined Mercedes GLA, offering a familiar design. It features a distinctive front design without a grille since electric vehicles don’t require as much cooling.

The EQA is ideal for those seeking a well-rounded electric SUV that balances value, practicality, and range.

In terms of performance, the EQA SUV offers different powertrain options:

  • EQA 250+: This front-wheel-drive model features a 190-horsepower motor and offers the longest range in the lineup, up to 324 miles per charge.
  • EQA 300: All-wheel drive with a 228-horsepower motor, providing a range of up to 268 miles.
  • EQA 350: Similar to the EQA 300 but with slightly more power at 292 horsepower. It offers similar range projections.

The EQA SUV can be charged at home with a wall box charger, taking around 9-10 hours for a full charge, depending on the battery size. Fast charging at a 100kW charger can take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just over half an hour.

Inside the EQA SUV, you’ll find a comfortable and quiet driving experience. The elevated driving position provides excellent visibility, making maneuvering in urban environments a breeze.

The powertrain operates almost silently, enhancing the relaxed driving experience. However, the performance might be slightly tamer compared to other electric vehicles.

While the EQA’s interior offers similar space and layout to the GLA, the presence of the batteries reduces the boot space to around 340 liters. Folding down the rear seats provides a maximum of 1,320 liters of space, still sufficient for everyday needs.

  • The EQA’s exterior design is reminiscent of the GLA, making it easy to transition from a conventional vehicle to an electric one.
  • You can choose from three battery and motor combinations. The EQA 250+ offers the longest range, with up to 324 miles per charge, while the EQA 300 provides all-wheel drive and a range of up to 268 miles. The top-of-the-line EQA 350 delivers more power but maintains a similar range projection.

  • Due to the batteries beneath the boot floor, the EQA’s boot space is reduced compared to the GLA.
  • The EQA prioritizes comfort and efficiency over sporty handling. The light steering lacks feedback, and there is a noticeable body roll in the corners. If you prioritize spirited driving, options like the Mustang Mach-e may be more suitable.

2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV exterior

This 2023 MBZ EQS 450+ SUV is superb! The 450+ is the bottom of the trim lines for the EQS SUV’s and you get everything you need and more. No one builds a coach like Mercedes and this car is no exception. Sumptuous appointments, seats that cradle your bottom like pillows, a dash-to-die-for…and last but NOT least…in 4 charges my last charge gave 387miles of range, driving in ECO, with no appreciable loss in power.

Lastly, we have the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is a premium electric SUV that starts at around $105,000 and offers five seats as standard, with the option to increase to seven.

The EQS SUV is the larger sibling of the EQE SUV, offering more interior space and cargo capacity.

While its exterior design may be somewhat understated and anonymous, the interior is where it truly shines, particularly with the Hyperscreen option, a stunning integration of OLED displays beneath a single pane of glass.

Performance-wise, the EQS SUV offers a range of powertrain options:

  • EQS 450+: The base version features rear-wheel drive and delivers between 335 horsepower. It provides a range of up to 305 miles per charge.
  • EQS 580 4MATIC: An all-wheel-drive version offering 285 miles of range and 536 horsepower.

While the EQS SUV offers a fantastic luxury experience, it comes with a higher price tag compared to its sibling, the EQE SUV. The EQE SUV offers similar luxury and technology at a more affordable price point.

  • The EQS SUV offers ample headroom, legroom, and cargo space. The Hyperscreen option creates a visually stunning dashboard complemented by premium materials and subtle lighting accents.
  • The EQS SUV has many driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, automatic lane-changing, and advanced headlights.

  • The EQS SUV’s exterior styling is somewhat plain and forgettable, lacking distinctiveness compared to other luxury SUVs in the segment.
  • The available color palette predominantly comprises black and gray shades, reducing customization options for those seeking a more vibrant look.

Congratulations! You’ve reached the end of electric Mercedes-Benz SUVs.

It’s time to wrap things up and summarize what we’ve discovered.

The EQB and EQE SUVs offer a practical and easy transition from traditional gas-powered SUVs.

On the other hand, the EQA is ideal for individuals or small families seeking a stylish and eco-friendly SUV with good range and solid performance.

For those seeking the pinnacle of luxury and cutting-edge technology, the EQS is a standout choice.
